Partners Finance & Lease celebrates six years of supporting New Zealand businesses this week.
The Christchurch-based firm has lent more than $100-million in recent years to over 2,000 businesses and funded countless assets – trucks, trailers, plant, and equipment.
CEO Francis Fitzgerald explains: “Six years ago we made the significant step from operating as a broker to becoming an actual funder. For eleven years we traded as brokers and helped clients get ahead by arranging finance for gear such as trucks, trailers, diggers, excavators, forklifts – all kinds of plant and equipment. Having access to a range of funders – banks and non-banks – meant we could provide clients with various options.
“As the market grew, we soon recognised a need for more flexible funding alternatives. SMEs (less than 20 employees) account for 40 percent of the economy’s total output so accessing funds is pivotal to ensuring they have the gear required for successful project completion. Asset finance provides business owners with greater flexibility and mitigates risk by spreading the load between their main facility and an asset finance alternative.
“In 2014 we founded Partners Finance & Lease; asset-based funders specialising in plant and equipment. To date we have funded more than 2,000 businesses and last July we opened our Auckland office, allowing us to better support our North Island clients.
